Ingredients
  • 1/4cup minced onion
  • 4tsp minced garlic
  • 1tbsp minced ginger
  • 8cups thinly sliced romaine lettuce
  • 2tsp White pepper
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1/2tsp chinese 5 spice powder
  • 2tbsp rice vinegar
  • 8cups fat free chicken broth
  • 200g red snapper or other white fish
  • 2tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1/4cup thinly sliced green onion
Instructions
  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the thinly sliced lettuce and sauté for another minute.
  4. Season with white pepper, salt, Chinese 5 spice, and rice vinegar.
  5. Slowly pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the snapper to the soup, cover, and simmer for 8-10 minutes, until the fish is cooked through.
  7. Gently flake the fish apart with a fork.
  8. Ladle into bowls, drizzle each bowl with 1 tbsp of coconut aminos, and garnish with thinly sliced green onions.
  9. Serve!
